Monument record MDR22784 - Foot bridge, south-east of Sheffield Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith

Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

A post-medieval bridge over a stream with sandstone drystone walls and a sandstone slab spanning the stream with no parapet above. A footpath [MDR22786] leads from Bagshaw across this bridge and onwards to the west. A bridge is shown across this point of the stream on the Ordnance Survey map of 1880. It is unlikely earlier available maps would show this feature, as it is not part of their purpose. (1)
