Full Description

This mitigation confirmed the results of an earlier evaluation that had taken place at this site, and provided additional dating evidence. 'Roman activity, contemporary with that previously identified to the west of the fort, appears to continue as far north as Area 2. Limited dating evidence, fragments of CBM and a fragment of glass from a prismatic bottle were recovered from an early ditch. …likely to be of 1st or 2nd century date… these features probably represent the definition and redefinition of field boundaries west of the fort.'
