Full Description

Test pitting over a large area of what was an extension to the Willington Quarry revealed a series of features that may be related to other prehistoric activity in this immediate area, established by other evaluations and excavations. A pottery sherd of probable Bronze Age fabric, a flake, a number of deposits containing charcoal were found, in addition to deposits that contained fire-cracked rock, an exposed small part of a linear feature of indeterminate function, and the edge of another indeterminate feature, possibly a pit.
