Full Description

A substantial soakaway, with a tiled 'horseshoe' drain at its centre, was recorded running roughly north - south, to the east of St Bride's Farm. '…the dating evidence of the horseshoe drain suggests a construction of mid 19th century at the latest. …It is concluded that the extreme effort and care in its construction must relate to its site on a section of a former stream bed in a hollow and the need to stabilise the ground from the depredations of cattle.'
