Full Description

Stone yard surface and pits, Park Farm, Ravensdale Park, of 18th century date. During a watching brief carried out over groundworks for water and gas utilities, a number of features associated with the early occupation of the farm were recorded: 'The earliest features encountered represent pit digging and in turn sealed by external [stone] surfacing. Both pits…based on one sherd of pottery, their use / disuse may date to the 18th century. This same sherd provides a terminus post quem or earliest date of construction of the external yard surfaces encountered.' (1)
