Steps, part of a woodland walk, Milford House, Wood Lane, Belper, possibly of late 19th century date.
The 1st edition 25" OS map of c1880 shows a woodland walk, and the former site of a summer house, to the west of Milford House, the latter built c1792.
Although by the time the 2nd edition 25" OS map of 1900 was produced the features were no longer shown, a walkover survey carried out in 2014 established that 14 separate flights of steps, comprising 76 individual steps are extant. (1)
