Full Description

Rotary quern stone, off Dunlow Lane, Eyam, possibly of Roman date. A quern stone was found by construction workers who had been digging trenches in a field in 2019, at a depth of c1m and without any other finds. One edge was damaged by the excavation equipment (please see linked photos). It is up to 0.44m long, up to 0.41m wide and 0.07m in height. The land owner loaned the stone to the Eyam Museum (pers comm as private correspondence).
