Full Description

Pit with fire cracked rock and Early Bronze Age Pottery, Willington Quarry, Egginton. During an evaluation carried out in 2015, an isolated Early Bronze Age feature was recorded: 'Alluvial deposits were encountered across the proposed development area and in Trench 25 these appeared to have been interleaved with at least one phase of Early Bronze Age activity as suggested by a depositional horizon in a otherwise homogenous alluvial clay, comprising small amounts of pottery and animal bone in association with a pit containing heat affected stones.'
