Possible enclosure, north of Bowbridge Fields Farm, off Ashbourne Road, Mackworth, of unknown date. A square or rectangular earthwork feature c15m wide was identified by a contractor studying LiDAR imagery in advance of a proposed development in the area. The feature is at the intersection of three fields, and pre-dates ridge and furrow that overlies it (please see linked image, and note that no grey literature was produced from this excercise). No marks are shown at this location on any of the available historic mapping. Google imagery (Google Earth) taken in 2006 does show a colour difference between this area and the surrounding pasture, but other Google Earth imagery for 2010, 2016 and 2017 does not show such evidence.
