From the National Heritage List for England: 'SALTERGATE 1. 5169 (South Side) Statue of James Haslam MP outside No 100 SK 3771 SE 4/148 II GV 2. A white stone figure set on rough hewn plinth. Composition includes a miner's Davy lamp, pick and leaves. Inscription "Erected by the Derbyshire Miners Association in memory of James Haslam MP. One of the founders of the association and its General Secretary from 1881 to 1913". Listing NGR: SK3785871352' (1)
