Full Description

Penmore House, formerly Chesterfield College of Art and Design, Saxton Close, Chesterfield, an early 19th century building. According to current Google imagery (Streetview) the building is used as a café. From the National Heritage List for England: 'This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 12 May 2022 to update the name and address and to reformat the text to current standards SK 36 NE 14/275 Hasland HASLAND ROAD (North East Side) Penmore House (Formerly listed as Main building to Chesterfield College of Art and Design) II Early C19. Colourwashed ashlar with plinth. Hipped stone slate roof, moulded eaves cornice. Two storeys. Southern or road facade has two windows, sashes with glazing bars but one ground floor late C19 bay. Entrance or eastern facade. Three windows, centre first floor round arched, one ground floor late C19 square bay. Centre Doric porch with flat hood. Six panelled door, top four now glazed, radial fanlight. Western facade has two round arched windows, at mezzanine level, with Gothic glazing bars. Listing NGR: SK3921169828' (1)
