Full Description

No. 38 Glumangate, Chesterfield, built in 1887. The building (or a predecesor of the building) is shown on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c1880 as 'Inn', and continues to be labelled on the 3rd edition 25" OS map of 1918 as 'PH.' From the National Heritage List for England: 'GLUMANGATE 1. 5169 (West Side) No 38 SK 3871 SW 1/104 9.8.76. II 2. 1887, dated on stuccoed plaque under centre 1st floor window. Good symmetrical facade. Red brick with moulded dentil eaves cornice. Roof not visible. Stuccoed band at 1st floor sill height. 2 storeys. 5 windows the outer 2 paired on each floor, ground floor windows taller. Segmental brick arches to windows and door, keystone to door. 6 panelled double doors with plain fanlight above. Listing NGR: SK3817971265.' (1)
