Chest tomb north of St Martin's Church, Alfreton, a mid 18th century structure. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 40 55 NE 8/11 ALFRETON CHURCH STREET (north side) Chest tomb 1 metre to north of chancel of St Martin's Church GV II Chest tomb. Mid C18. Gritstone. Rectangular in plan, approximately 3 feet high. Raised and fielded panelled sides, moulded edges to large top slab. Inscriptions to north and south sides, that to north side illegible but that to south to Thomas Burnham and his wife, Mary who died in 1771 and 1734 respectively. Listing NGR: SK4074655891.' (1)
