Firs Cottage, formerly Firs Farmhouse, Nether Lane, Hazelwood, a mid-19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF HAZELWOOD NETHER LANE SK 34 NW 4/30 The Firs Farmhouse II Farmhouse. Mid-C19. Roughcast brickwork with intermediate and south east gable stacks, and a Welsh slated roof. Two storeys, five bays, the bay to the south west end lower and set back. Main range with off-centre doorway, its bay delineated by full-height pilasters with plainly moulded capitals. Doorway with moulded lintel incorporating brackets to ends, and a recessed four-panelled door. Flanking the doorway are single storey canted bay windows with glazed doors with panelled bases and with flanking lights. Above, tripartite glazing bar windows, with casements to lower parts of side lights, and with lintels which match that of the doorway. A similar window exists to the ground floor, at the north east end. Recessed bay with stacked windows matching those to the main range and a pitched roofed porch to the angle of the two ranges.
