Full Description

Groom Cottage and Garden Cottage, boundary walls and railings, Ireton Wood, Idridgehay and Alton, a mid-19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF IDRIDGEHAY AND ALTON IRETON WOOD SK 24 NE 3/47 House to the north east of Iretonwood House, attached boundary wall and railings. II House. Mid-C19. Red brick with plain gables, end brick ridge stacks and a plain tiled roof. Two storeys, three bays, with one additional window and a blocked doorway to north west end. Glazing bar sashes beneath flat rubbed brick arches, off-centre doorway with flat rubbed brick head, with fielded and panelled door, the upper panels glazed. Rectangular overlight above. Late C19 gabled porch, with decorative bargeboards and finial. Low brick boundary wall encloses garden to front, with plain stone coping surmounted by plain iron railings with small urns to the stanchions. Listing NGR: SK2805747826.' (1)
