Alton Manor Lodge, gate piers and gate, B5023, Idridgehay and Alton, c1846. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF IDRIDGEHAY AND ALTON WIRKSWORTH ROAD SK 25 SE 1/61 Lodge to Alton Manor, adjacent gate piers and gates. II Lodge. c1846-7, by Sir G G Scott. Ashlar gritstone, with quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, and a stone slated roof. Cruciform plan, with the east elevation forming the front. Central gabled projection to east, with stone canted bay window to the ground floor, and gabled porch in the angle. Two storeys. Casement windows, some with stone mullions and dripmoulds. Central stone stack with three diagonally set shafts. Adjacent gate piers, square on plan with ball finials and ornate wrought iron gates. Listing NGR: SK2846050823.' (1)
