Full Description

Old School House, Markeaton Lane, Mackworth, an early 18th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 33 NW PARISH OF MACKWORTH MARKEATON LANE 6/88 (North Side) Old School House II House and school, now two houses. Early C18, altered mid-C19. Red brick. Banded plain and fishscale tile roof, half hipped to east. Brick ridge stack and a brick stack just off the ridge. Two storeys. South elevation of four bays. Left hand part has two room plan with a central stack. Central doorway with segment head and C20 glazed door. Open C19 gabled porch. To the right are two 3-light casement windows with segment heads and diamond pane lights. To the left are two similar 2-light windows. Four 2-light windows above under flat arches with diamond lights. Listing NGR: SK3239237444.' (1)
