Full Description

The Vicarage, Market Place, Riddings, an early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 45 SW RIDDINGS CHURCH STREET (west side) 4/49 The Old Vicarage (formerly listed as 1.2.82 The Vicarage) GV II House. Early C19 with mid C19 additions and minor C20 alterations. Red brick with stucco dressings, hipped slate roof with wide bracketed eaves and brick side wall stacks. Two storeys, three bays with recessed two bay addition to left plus advanced single bay in the angle. Main house has central Doric columned doorcase with fluted frieze and wide cornice, panelled door and divided overlight, flanked by full height 12-pane sashes, and with 3 similar shorter windows above. All windows below stuccoed flat arches and projecting sills. Bay in angle to left has four 4-pane sashes below similar arches and beyond to left ground floor has C20 window with 12-pane sash below stuccoed flat arch above. Interior has stick baluster staircase with scrolled tread ends and column newel. Listing NGR: SK4307252596.' (1)
