Terrace of 6 cottages, now three. Early C19, restored c1980. Red brick with slate roofs, dentilled eaves and brick gable and ridge stacks. Two storeys, each cottage 2 bays. South elevation of each cottage has 2 central plank doors flanked by 2-light windows, with 2 similar windows above. All openings with cambered brick heads. Fenestration all small pane C20 casements. Part of a group of industrial workers housing built by the Butterley Company, facing on to the Cromford Canal. Source: Philip Rider 'The Butterley Company 1790-1830'.
