Full Description

Potential round barrow, north of Worksop Road, Staveley, possibly of Late Neolithic to Late Bronze Age date. A circular mound, approximately 35m in diameter, is clearly visible to the north side Worksop Road, about 60m from the north edge of the road. Available LiDAR imagery (from National Libraries Scotland), shows this mound relatively clearly. Air photos from 2011 in particular (Google Earth) also show a clearly definable edge to the mound. A member of the public took photographs of this earthwork in 2021, in addition to a similar one slightly east (please see linked photo). (1)
