Barlborough House, No. 12 Church Street, Barlborough, originally a 17th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 47 NE PARISH OF BARLBOROUGH CHURCH STREET 1/34 (West Side) 26.8.65 Barlborough House GV II House. C17, mid C18 and mid C19. Coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings. Steeply pitched hipped Welsh slate roof. Stacks hidden within the valley. Two storeys. North elevation of five symmetrical bays. Central doorway has a moulded stone doorcase with bracketted broken pediment. Raised and fielded panelled door. Flanked by C19 canted bay windows, with hipped roofs and plain sashes. Five plain sashes above set in plain ashlar surrounds. Interior has an C18 closed string staircase with turned balusters. Entrance hall has C16 reset panelling. An upper room has a mid-C18 eared chimneypiece with Hopton Wood stone and relief carving. Listing NGR: SK4767677150.' (1)
