Full Description

No. 493 Burton Road, Swadlincote, an early 19th century building with earlier material. Previously Grade II Listed: 'In the entry for BURTON ROAD Lower Midway (south-west side) Lower Midway Post Office the item shall be amended to read: 1. BURTON ROAD 5174 Lower Midway (south-west side) Lower Midway No 493 SK 32 NW 2/10A GV2. Early C19 but with some C18 work. A house set on street boundary in corner position. Red brick tiled roof with coped gable ends and end chimneys. Brick eaves cornice and plinth. Two storeys. Symmetrical 3 window facade, C19 casements with stuccoed lintels and sills, the outers of 3 lights, centre of 2 lights. Centre 5 panelled door has entablature with cornice, reeded frieze with paterae and small flat hood. Listing NGR: SK3057420616.'
