Full Description

Garden seat to west of garden front at Shardlow Hall, off London Road, an early 19th century structure. Previously Grade II Listed: 'SK 43 SW PARISH OF SHARDLOW AND GREAT WILNE LONDON ROAD 2/198 (North Side) Garden Seat to west of Garden Front at Shardlow Hall GV II Garden seat. Early C19. Ashlar and pebblework. Central depressed semi-circular headed niche with rusticated arch and jambs, ashlar back and pebble work dome, also with wooden bench to base on shaped legs. Above this is a Dutch gable in pebblework with moulded stone copings and a dentilled pediment. To either side there are blind depressed semi-circular headed, rusticated arches with ashlar backs and pebble work above in the spandrels, flanked by plain pilasters. Above, to each side, is a pierced parapet with piers to either end topped by ball finials. Included for group value only. Listing NGR: SK4385030472.'
