Full Description

The Garden House, of former Wingerworth Hall, off Hockley Lane, Wingerworth, dating to at least c1835. The building is on the east side of the walled garden to the south of the former hall, and is shown clearly on Sanderson's map of 1835. (1) It is shown on the Hunloke Estate map of 1864. It is on the 1st edition 25" OS map of 1880, and is still marked on the 3rd edition 25" OS map of 1946. According to current Google Earth imagery, the walled garden is no longer functioning as a garden since at least c2000.
