Full Description

Dragon Farm (Dragon Cottages), Town Street, Brassington, a 17th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 23 54 BRASSINGTON TOWN STREET 5/39 (West Side) 15.9.67 Dragon cottages,(formerly GV listed as 'House 30 yds NNE of Tudor House') II Cottages. C17, remodelled in Cl8. Coursed, squared limestone with slightly projecting quoins, first floor band, window surrounds and coved eaves band. Stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. Plain tile roof. Two stone ridge stacks, the central one being considerably larger. Plinth on west side, diminishing to the east. Two storeys and attics, five bay front. To ground floor three windows with C20 casements and off-centre doorcase. To east a C20 glazed door has been inserted into former window opening. Above, central blocked 2-light mullioned window, to east two glazing bar sashes, to west two C20 casements. 2-light recessed mullion window in east gable wall. Listing NGR: SK2318954301.' (1)
