Wingfield House, Manor Road, South Wingfield, a mid-18th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 3755 PARISH OF SOUTH WINGFIELD MANOR ROAD 5/112 (West Side) Wingfield House GV II Former house, now a church. Mid C18, substantially enlarged c1840. Pebble dash to C19 addition, on ashlar plinth, coursed squared coal measures sandstone to either part, the former with interlocking concrete tiles to a hipped roof with boldly projecting eaves, the latter with welsh slates and a coped gable to west end. C19 range; two storeys, five bays 2:1:2, with central bay recessed and flanked by full height pilasters without capitals. Ashlar surround to doorway, with flanking narrow sash windows, separated by pilasters with modestly moulded capitals. Panelled double doors, each of three panels, and inner half-glazed door with glazing bars and margin lights. Rectangular overlight with glazing bars, plain frieze and moulded cornice. 'L' shaped range to rear. South elevation; two storeys, three bays, with 2-light flush mullioned windows with C20 casements and a single light opening between, to ground floor. First floor with three 2-light openings and two C19 gabled dormers to attics, projecting from plane of roof, and with bargeboards and finials. Monopitch lean-to with concrete tiled roof. North gable to 'L' shaped range with a 3-light flush mullioned ground floor window, with glazing bar sash above, all within C19 brick wall. Listing NGR: SK3757455453.' (1)
