Bleak House, Edale Road, Hope, an early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 18 SE PARISH OF HOPE EDALE ROAD 7/77 (West Side) 21.4.67 Bleak House II House. Early C19. Coursed limestone with gritstone dressings. Stone slate roof with stone gable end stacks. Two storeys. North east elevation of three bays. Central doorway with heavy rusticated surround. C20 part glazed door. Flanked on each side by glazing bar sashes with stone surrounds and C20 louvred shutters. Central first floor window with three-centred arch and stone surround with projecting keystone and impost blocks. Casement window. Flanked on each side by plain sashes with stone surrounds.
