Full Description

Ivy Cottage, Brookside Road, Breadsall, an early 17th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 33 NE 4/2 PARISH OF BREADSALL BROOKSIDE ROAD (North Side) No 19 (Ivy Cottage) II Cottage. Early C17, extended to east in C18. Timber framed with painted brick nogging. Painted brick to east end, coursed squared gritstone to west end. Plain tile roof with brick gable and ridge stacks. Single storey with attics. The south elevation has exposed box framing to west half, with middle rail and two diagonal braces to the upper panels. C20 gabled porch. Two small pane casement windows to left with two C20 gabled dormers above. To the right of the porch is a 2-light casement window to the first floor, above a dentil cornice. The interior has crudely cut exposed beams, an inglenook fireplace and a winder stair. Three room plan. Listing NGR: SK3705339689.' (1)
