Full Description

Features, off Inkersall Road, Staveley, of 19th century date. During an evaluation carried out in 2020, at least one feature of post medieval date was recorded. 'It consisted of an L-shaped linear feature… aligned northeast - southwest and southeast - northwest. …maximum width of 1.05m, a maximum depth of 0.34m and an exposed length of 3.1m. It had moderately sloped sides and a slightly concave base.' 19th century pottery was recovered from its fill. The angularity of this feature resembled another found elsewhere in the evaluation area, but the latter had no associated finds. (1)
