Gate piers and garden wall at The Beeches, Matlock Street, Bakewell, an early 19th century structure. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 MATLOCK STREET 831-1/4/131 (West side) 20/05/74 Front gatepiers and roadside wall at The Beeches (Formerly Listed as: MATLOCK STREET (West side) Garden wall, The Beeches) GV II Gatepiers and garden wall. Early C19, probably lowered C20. Deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone backed by limestone rubble; ashlar copings. Low, convex quadrant walls flank square-sectioned ashlar gate piers with pyramidal caps. Wall steps up to north and lines the pavement to Matlock Street then terminates beyond a garden gateway. Listing NGR: SK2183868342.' (1)
