Full Description

Ridge and furrow, off Ashbourne Road, Mackworth, of probable medieval date. Sections of ridge and furrow were recorded during the excavation of trial trenches in 2022. The earthworks were also visible at ground surface before excavation began. Unstratified finds were recovered, comprised of modern glass, 18th or 19th century ceramic building material, and medieval green-glaze pottery. (1) Note this (excavated) ridge and furrow is related to the larger area within which these earthworks survive.
