Full Description
Outbuilding and lean-to, Gores Farm, west of Derwent Reservoir, Hope Woodlands, originally of early 19th century date.
The building was subject to an historic building survey carried out in 2021: '...dating to at least the early 19th century, possibly earlier. The outbuilding appears to have been originally constructed as a small stable with cart store and granary, and had an associated lean-to piggery with a potential upper storey poultry house. Over time, the buildings use changed, evolving into a workshop, and eventually as a seldom used generator house. ...a later 19th century fireplace, chimney and stove were installed. The presence of the timber workbench, cupboard and boards with hook fixtures suggest that space was used as a workshop.' (1)
