Full Description

Midden deposits and two stone culverts, Newholme Hospital, Baslow Road, Bakewell, of probable late 18th to 20th century date. During a watching brief carried out in 2023, following the demolition and partial demolition of former hostpital buildings at the site, midden deposits and two stone culverts were recorded '...midden layer containing glass bottle fragments and pottery dated from the late 18th to 20th century, and two stone culverts. One of the culverts was part of an extant canalised stream and the other probably flowed into it.' (1)
