Cross House, Main Road, Shirland and Higham, an early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'In the entry for: PARISH OF SHIRLAND AND HIGHAM MAIN ROAD (East Side) No 30, Higham (formerly listed with Nos 26-29, as 26-30 Main Street) The item shall be amended to read: MAIN ROAD (East Side) SK 39 59 6/54 Cross House, NO 30, Higham (formerly listed with Nos 26- 29,as 26-30 Main Street) --------------------------------------------------------------- 38/39 59 PARISH OF SHIRLAND & HIGHAM MAIN ROAD 38/39 58 6/54 (East Side) No 30, Higham (formerly 31-1-67 listed with Nos 26-29, as 26-30 Main Street) GV II House. Early C19. Coursed squared sandstone. Gritstone dressings. Slate roof with stone ridge. Brick gable end stack to north. Stone coped gable with plain kneeler to north. Two storeys, two bays. Central doorcase with flush lintel. Original panelled door. To either side, glazing bar sashes under skewback lintels with incised voussoirs. Above, two further glazing bar sashes.
