Thickwood Lodge, Baslow Road, Holmesfield, a mid 19th century building. 'PARISH OF HOLMESFIELD BASLOW ROAD SK 27 NE 4/134 Thickwood Lodge 16.12.75 II Lodge. Mid C19, with C20 alterations and additions, in imitation of the local C17 vernacular style. Coursed squared gritstone with quoins, moulded kneelers, coped gables, and a stone slated roof. Square on plan, each elevation being gabled, with ashlar side gable stacks, and finials to the front and rear. There is a continuous moulded stringcourse to the heads of the ground and first floor windows. South-east elevation. Single bay, with stacked 3-light chamfer mullioned windows to the ground and first floors, with a small attic window with a pointed head below the finial. Original doorway, now enclosed by single storey porch. Single storey flat roofed extension to north-west elevation. This lodge was built by the Duke of Rutland for the Longshawe Estate.
