Bottle Kiln, Hill Top Works, Woodhouse Street, Swadlincote, an early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'The following building shall be added: SK 31 NW 4/29 29.10.74 SWADLINCOTE WOODHOUSE STREET Bottle Kiln at Hill Top Works: Neville Lumb and Co Ltd (formerly listed as part of 3 Bottle Kilns at Hill Top Works, Pool Street) II Bottle Kiln. Early C19. Red brick, circular in plan. This large bottle kiln is tall and broad in outline, built within a plain pottery works building with hipped slate roof. The Kiln rises above the roof and the surrounding buildings. --------------------------------------------- This building was listed, by List No. 2, in 1974 and omitted from the resurvey list in error. --------------------------------------------- Listing NGR: SK3058318921.'
