Gate piers and wall to Holme Hall, Holme Lane, Bakewell, of mid-19th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2169 HOLME LANE 831-1/3/111 (North side) 20/05/74 Entrance gate piers and attached walls at East and West Lodges to Holme Hall (Formerly Listed as: HOLME (North side) Garden Walls and Gate Piers at Holme Hall) GV II Entrance gate piers and attached walls. Mid C19. Coursed limestone with dressed sandstone copings and ashlar piers. A pair of gate piers flank the drive to Holme Hall (qv) between East Lodge (qv) and West Lodge (qv); attached quadrant walls of approximately one metre in height return to line Holme Lane in front of each lodge. Gate piers: chamfered plinths sunken-panelled shafts with splayed inner returns; bands and ogee caps with large ball finials. Walling has round-edged triangular copings; simpler ball-finialled end pier on left. Listing NGR: SK2174069057.' (1)
