Nos. 1-5 Water Street, Bakewell, a late 18th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 WATER STREET 831-1/4/179 (South side) 07/01/70 Granby House: Nos.1-5 (consecutive) (Formerly Listed as: WATER STREET (South side) Granby House) GV II House now flats. Late C18 with C19 addition. Deeply-coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings; graduated Welsh slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3-window range with 2-storey, 2-window range addition on left. Symmetrical facade to 3-bay part. Raised quoins; ground floor and first-floor sill bands; projecting stone sills to 6/6 sashes in plain surrounds; 3/3 sashes to second floor. Central 6-panel door with etched glass fanlight in round arched ashlar doorcase having dentilled cornice. Corniced ashlar end stacks. Addition generally in same style; moulded cast-iron gutter, end stack on left. Rear: central ashlar porch has archivolt with rusticatd keystone, cornice and parapet; lantern. Single-storey rectangular bay windows with tripartite sashes. INTERIOR: not inspected. Listing NGR: SK2181768530.' (1)
