Rock House, Buxton Road, Bakewell, an early to mid-18th century building.

SK2168 BUXTON ROAD 831-1/4/62 (South West side) 20/05/74 Rock House
GV II
House. Early-mid C18 and early C19. Rubble limestone with sandstone dressings; stone slate and Welsh slate roofs. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2-window range; earlier wing to rear right (facing road). Garden front: glazed C20 door beneath stone lintel; 2/2 sash to left and 4/8 sash to right. Another door and small casement into outbuilding under same roof on left. First floor: two 8/8 sashes which rise as corniced, flat-roofed dormers. Brick end stack on right; brick ridge stack. Right return (facing road): two 4/4 sashes and an 8/8 sash to ground floor, also a 2-light square-faced mullioned window to each floor glazed with 4/4 sashes; end stack. Lean-to on right has boarded door. Left return: small flight of stone steps to boarded loft door. INTERIOR: not inspected.
