Bridge and attached obelisk, Mill Street, Bakewell, a late 18th or early 19th century structure. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 MILL STREET 831-1/4/133 (East side) 20/05/74 Bridge over Mill Tailrace with attached Obelisk GV II Bridge. Late C18-early C19. Dressed gritstone with coursed limestone spandrels. Shallow segmental arch only visible and with parapet to downstream side. Cambered and offset band beneath parapet of large herringbone-dressed blocks. Short, stepped obelisk at Mill Street end. Spans the tailrace to Victoria Mill, Buxton Road (qv), the waters pass beneath the mill yard to emerge at this bridge. Listing NGR: SK2165668792.' (1)
