Victoria Cottages, Nos. 1-8 Buxton Road, Bakewell, an early 19th century row of houses. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 BUXTON ROAD 831-1/4/74 (South West side) 15/10/97 Victoria Cottages: Nos.1-8 (consecutive) GV II Row of 8 houses. Early C19. Deeply-coursed sandstone; stone slate and concrete tile roofs. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 11-window range. Each house has single window to first floor except No.1 with 3 windows and No.5 with 2. Various C20 part-glazed doors; boarded door to No.5; dressed stone surrounds, those to Nos 1 and 2 with bonding stones. Projecting sills to ashlar window surrounds: mostly 2/2 sashes except for 2 8/8 sashes to No.5 and C20 casements to Nos 4 and 7. Nos 1 and 5 have central doorways; Nos 2 and 4 have door on right of the windows; remainder have the doorway to left. Various stone ridge stacks with bands, the largest stack on party wall of Nos 1 and 2; end stacks. Roofline to No.1 is lower. INTERIOR: not inspected. Listing NGR: SK2160168797.' (1)
