Full Description

Blue Bell Cottage, Buxton Road, Bakewell, an early to mid-19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 BUXTON ROAD 831-1/4/51 (South side) Bluebell Cottage GV II House. Early-mid C19. Coursed and rubble limestone with ashlar sandstone dressings; stone slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, single cell with C20 wing set back on left. Plinth; large quoins. Glazed door in broad ashlar surround with dripmould. Window to right on each floor with projecting stone sills to horizontally-sliding sashes of 30 and 24 panes in ashlar surrounds; dripmould to ground floor only. Rock-faced stone end stack on right. Left return: windows as front offset to right. INTERIOR: not inspected. Originally formed a matched pair with Greenlands, Buxton Road (qv). Listing NGR: SK2108968963.' (1)
