Full Description

The Limes, North Church Street, Bakewell, an early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 NORTH CHURCH STREET 831-1/4/149 (North side) 20/05/74 The Limes GV II House. Early C19. Deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone facade with contrasting ashlar dressings; limestone elsewhere; stone slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 2-window range; symmetrical facade. Projecting quoins. Central doorway has raised and painted stone surround to 6-panel door, the top 4 panels glazed. Painted projecting sills and raised surrounds to 8/8 sashes with slender glazing bars. Second floor windows are shorter and have 2-light horizontally-sliding sashes with glazing bars. End stacks in red and yellow bricks. Right return: a multi-pane casement to second floor.
