Three possible stone hut sites centred on SK 1418 9019 were recorded in 1978, and described as circular features only one stone high. (1)
Survey of the area in failed to identify any evidence for the hut circles. While it was noted that discrete areas of dense vegetation might cover the features, it appeared that the record was a spurious one. (2)
Unpublished document: Bevan, B & Sidebottom, P (PDNPA). 1995. Alport Castles to Lockerbrook, Hope Woodlands, Derbyshire, Archaeological Survey. p 14, Feature 25.
