Potters Lock Bridge, Monks Close, Ilkeston, built in 1779. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF ILKESTON OFF HEATHFIELD AVENUE SK 44 SE 3/40 (North Side) Potter's Lock Bridge GV II Bridge over the Erewash Canal. 1779 by John Varley, engineer, with later repairs. Red brick and gritstone. Single segmental arch. Walls curve out slightly to end piers, and are ramped to the centre. Gritstone copings, largely replaced with concrete. Listed for group value only. Listing NGR: SK4760141705.' (1)
