Monument record MDR2465 - Cairn, Little Moor, Hope Woodlands

Type and Period (1)

  • (Bronze Age - 2350 BC to 701 BC)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

SK 1453 9120: Little Moor, Cairn: Cairn. (1) (SK 1453 9132): The map reference given in the SMR is spurious. The only feature in the vicinity, at the 8 figure ref. given here, is a D shaped rubble ring of 6.5 x 5.5m and 0.3m high. It is probably a ruined shepherds shelter or possibly a shooting butt (but there are no others here). It is very unlikely to be a robbed cairn. (2)
