Nos. 1-2 Moor Lane, Rock Cottage, Elton, built in 1735. From the National Heritage List for England: 'This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 6 July 2022 to correct typos in the text and reformat to current standards SK 26 SW 5/20 PARISH OF ELTON MOOR LANE (West side) NOS 1 and 2 Rock Cottage (Formerly listed as a pair of cottages about 100 yds off Duke of York Inn)) II Pair of cottages, formerly one house. Dated 1735. Coursed squared gritstone rubble with coped gables, midroof copings on dividing wall, moulded kneelers, intermediate and end ridge stacks, one of brick, graduated slates and plain tiles. Two storeys, three bays,irregular elevation, with two-light flush mullioned windows, some at south end with mullions removed. C20 window Three doorways, one concealed by C20 porch, but retaining massive surround. Two other doorways, one with stone jambs and lintels, the other with quoined surround with lintel bearing inscription. E W : G 17 : 35 Listing NGR: SK2217860860.' (1)
