The George Public House, Castle Street, Castleton, a 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 18 SW PARISH OF CASTLETON CASTLE STREET 6/27 (West Side) The George GV II Public House. Early and mid-C19. Rendered limestone with gritstone dressings. Welsh slate roof with stone coped gables and brick gable end stacks. Two storeys. East elevation of three bays. Central doorway with stone surround and flat bracketed hood. Panelled door, flanked on each side by large 2-light square section flush mullion windows with plain sashes. Three glazing bar sashes above set in stone surrounds. Listed for group value only. Listing NGR: SK1497882868.' (1)
