Canal bridge at Sandiacre Lock, Lock Lane, Long Eaton, built in 1779. From the National Heritage list for England: 'PARISH OF LONG EATON LOCK LANE SK 48 NE 2/32 Bridge at Sandiacre Lock GV II Canal bridge. 1779, by engineer John Varley, with later repairs. Red brick with stone dressings. Single segmental arch, mostly of brick but partly repaired in stone. Plain brick spandrels and parapets, capped by chamfered stone copings. Wall splay out to each end and finish in a brick pier with large stone coping. Built as part of the Erewash Canal. Included for group value only. Listing NGR: SK4821835747'. (1)
