War memorial southwest of St Laurence's Church, Market Place, Long Eaton, erected c1920.

PARISH OF LONG EATON MARKET PLACE (East Side) War Memorial to 6 metre SW of St Laurence's Church

War memorial. c1920. Stone. Large cross on octagonal base, in Dec style. Deep base with corbelled out shelf to make a seat all round. Above this there are three octagonal steps on which the cross stands. The cross has a moulded square base with memorial inscription to west side in laurel leaf circle. Above, it has a tall tapering octagonal shaft with a spurred base. Dec style head with figures of saints to four sides in ogee crocketed niches with crocketed pinnacles to top. The stone is clipsham limestone. Architect was J M Comper. Included for group value only.
